Kyrgyz Parliament To Vote On New Cabinet


Bishkek, 27 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Kyrgyzstan's parliament is today expected to vote on President Kurmanbek Bakiev's list of 18 nominations for his new cabinet.

Bakiev has nominated Roza Otunbaeva to head the Foreign Ministry. She is currently acting foreign minister.

Bakiev has also nominated Naken Kasiev, a former ally of ousted president Askar Akaev, to be government chief of staff. The president also tapped businessman Daniyar Usenov to be first deputy prime minister.
