Car Bomb North Of Baghdad Kills More Than 20


(RFE/RL) 29 October 2005 -- Iraqi police say a car bomb exploded today in a town northeast of Baghdad, killing at least 20 people.


Police say a number of others were injured by the blast in a market in the Shi'ite town of Huwaider, some 60 kilometers from Baghdad.


Earlier today, the U.S. military said three U.S. soldiers were killed and four wounded in separate incidents near Beiji, 250 kilometers north of Baghdad and south of the capital, involving a land mine and roadside bomb.
