CIS Interior Ministers Meet In Dushanbe


Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov (file photo) (RFE/RL) April 21, 2006 -- Interior ministers from CIS member states are meeting today in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to discuss efforts against terrorism, religious extremism, and drug trafficking.


The ministers are also due to explore ways to create a joint database that would improve cooperation between law-enforcement agencies in the Commonwealth of Independent States.


Prior to the meeting, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev held separate talks with Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov.
