Roman Abramovich (file photo) (epa) June 19, 2006 -- An investment company controlled by Russia's richest man, Roman Abramovich, says it will buy a stake of just over 41 percent in the Russian steel giant Evraz.

Evraz is one of Russia's top steelmakers and owns plants in Russia, Italy, and the Czech Republic.

According to a Russian newspaper, "Kommersant," Abramovich is planning to merge Evraz with the British-Dutch steelmaker Corus.
