Plane Carrying Russian Navy Chief Crashes


Scene from an international air show at Zhukovsky, near Moscow (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) July 10, 2006 -- A plane carrying Russia's naval chief, Admiral Vladimir Masorin, crash-landed in Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula today.


The plane, Tu-134, rolled off a runway while landing at Simferopol airport.


No one was killed. It was not immediately known how many people were aboard.
