French Fighter Jets To Stay In Tajikistan


(RFE/RL) October 15, 2006 -- Tajikistan has agreed to let France continue to base a unit of Mirage fighter jets on its soil until December.


The jets have been based at Dushanbe's main airport since May, supporting operations by NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in neighboring Afghanistan.


They were originally meant to stay for three to four months.
