Russian Health Minister Comes Under Fire


Health and Social Development Minister Mikhail Zurabov (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) March 5, 2007 -- The chairman of Russia's Federation Council has said that Health and Social Development Minister Mikhail Zurabov should resign.


Sergei Mironov said Zurabov has failed to reform Russia's system of providing free medicine to poor and disadvantaged citizens.


Mironov said if Zurabov does not resign, he should be fired. Mironov made his comments today during a visit to the Stavropol region.
