Georgian Premier Back After Heart Operation


Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) May 7, 2007 -- Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli returned to Tbilisi early today after undergoing a successful heart operation in a U.S. clinic.


Government spokesman Lasha Chikvaidze said Noghaideli will resume carrying out his duties this week.


Noghaideli, 42, underwent medical tests in the United States after he felt unwell while on an official visit in April. He underwent a heart operation at a clinic in the state of Texas on April 19.
