Six Detainees Killed In Iraq Prison Attack

(RFE/RL) June 9, 2007 -- The U.S. military said six civilian detainees have been killed and at least 50 wounded when rockets or mortars were fired into a U.S.-run prison facility in southern Iraq.

No U.S. service members were killed in the attack, which a military spokesman described as an "indirect fire attack" on Camp Bucca, near the southern port city of Al-Basrah.

No further details were immediately available.
