Train Hits Bus In Romania, Eight Killed


(RFE/RL) July 22, 2007 -- Police say eight people were killed and 24 injured today when a train rammed into a coach on a level crossing in southern Romania.


Reports say the driver apparently ignored the signal for an approaching train.


The coach was carrying around 40 passengers returning from a village wedding when the accident happened at dawn near the town of Targoviste.
