Grozny, Jan. 18 (RFE/RL) - The Interior Ministry of the
Moscow-backed Chechen government reports no progress in its search
for at least 30 civilians taken hostage at a Grozny power plant
by unidentified masked gunmen on Tuesday.
The Itar-Tass news agency quotes the Interior Ministry as saying efforts to locate the electrical power plant workers are continuing.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the hostage-taking.
