Yeltsin Re-election Structure Expected Today

Moscow, Jan. 23 (RFE/RL) - Russia's first deputy prime minister Oleg Soskovets and Presidential Administration Chief Nikolai Yegorov are expected to announce the creation of a structure in support of Boris Yeltsin's re-election to the Russian presidency today.

Yesterday, Yeltsin said he will "probably" seek a second term in office. He said he would announce his final decision in mid-February. Yeltsin said he understands that if he runs, "the fight will be fairly tough," but, he added, "we hope for the best."
