Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia; Jan. 30 (RFE/RL) - An explosion ripped through a mosque in the North Ossetian capital Vladikavkaz this morning. No casualties are reported. One of the mosque's walls was destroyed by the blast.
There are no immediate details on what caused the explosion in the mainly muslim region. An investigation is underway.
Earlier this month, an explosion in Vladikavkaz destroyed a monument to Russian-Ossetian friendship. Police have not established who was responsible for that attack.
