Prague, March 20 (RFE/RL) - The Vice President of a major American bank says the Russian Duma's attempt to nullify the dissolution of the Soviet Union may benefit countries like Poland and the Czech Republic.
Citibank's Alan Hirst said: "If the Russian Duma continues to do things like that, we think the pace toward NATO expansion and EU integration will increase, not decrease." Hirst said that ultimately would bring more foreign investment into Visegrad countries.
Hirst made the comment while addressing a group of international bankers and financial leaders meeting at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Prague headquarters.
