Duma Has No Plans To Reconsider Resolution

Moscow, March 21 (RFE/RL) - Russia's lower house of parliament, the State Duma, has no immediate plans to reconsider its resolution aimed at restoring the Soviet Union.

Yesterday the Federation Council - the upper house - called on the Duma to review its decision on the resolution.

President Boris Yeltsin sent to the duma a draft law confirming the legitimacy of acting Russian state institutions.

But our correspondent quotes Duma representatives as saying that Yeltsin's draft is not on tomorrow's agenda of the lower house.

Meanwhile, the Duma is planning to discuss US Secretary of State Warren Christopher's comments criticizing the Duma resolution.
