Moscow, April 11 (RFE/RL) - The Russian Embassy in Berne protested today against the expulsion of its first secretary from Switzerland.
The diplomat, identified by Russian officials as Rostislav Dushak, was ordered out of Switzerland on Tuesday on espionage charges.
Our correspondent quotes a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mikhail Demurin, as saying that the expulsion of Dushak is not "a friendly action".
The Swiss Justice Ministry said earlier this week that federal officials caught Dushak spying in the Zurich region (canton).
