Bialystok, May 29 (RFE/RL) - The leader of the "Solidarity" local in Bialystok, Josef Mozolewski, today said the trade union will organize a humanitarian aid center to supply food and medical help for Belarus citizens. Mozolewski made his comments after meeting Belarus opposition "Popular Front" chairman Zyanon Paznyak in Bialystok on the border with Belarus. Mozolewski said his talks with Paznyak focused on setting up a Belarusian information center in Bialystok, and the possibility of broadcasting information into Belarus.
Paznyak said he expects deputies of Poland's parliament to meet soon to decide on the possibility of sending a parliamentary commission to Minsk to assess respect for human rights in Belarus.
Paznyak remains in Poland, unable to return to Belarus. Orders for his arrest have been issued, after opposition-led rallies in Minsk.
