Moscow, June 28 (RFE/RL) -- Russian authorities have now scaled down the death toll from today's explosion on a bus in Russia's North Caucasus region of Kabardino-Balkaria.
Interfax news agency quoted local officials as saying that four people were killed and 21 were taken to hospital. Five are said to be in critical condition. Earlier the agency reported 10 dead.
The blast happened while the bus was arriving at the station in the regional capital Nalchik from the resort town of Mineralnye Vody.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the blast.
