Moscow, July 15 (RFE/RL) -- A senior Communist party official says the communists are ready to accept 'any post' in a new Russian government.
State Duma Security Committee chairman Viktor Ilyukhin also told Itar-Tass that only by joining the government will the Communists 'be able to understand if it is possible to work with it."
However, Ilyukhin said that Communist party officials have not received concrete offers of government posts.
The new cabinet of Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin is to be announced next month, after President Boris Yeltsin's inauguration to a second term in office (August 9).
Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov lost to Yeltsin in the runoff presidential election on July 3.
