Moscow, 19 September 1996 (RFE/RL) -- Russian Security Council Secretary Aleksandr Lebed will hold a closed-door meeting with representatives of the defense, security and interior ministries in Moscow today.
Alexander Barkhatov, Lebed's spokesman, told Itar-Tass news agency that the discussions with members of the so-called power ministries would focus on the issue of law enforcement in Chechnya during the period of demilitarization.
The meeting will be held in the Interior ministry.
In Chechnya today, reports say the situation is tense. The press center of the Russian interior ministry troops said rebel fighters fired three times at federal troops in the last 24 hours.
