Bishkek, 15 November 1996 (RFE/RL) - Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Roza Otunbaeva continues her tour of the Caucasus. She arrived in Armenia yesterday and held talks with President Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
Otunbaeva has already visited Georgia and Azerbaijan. Kyrgyzstan does not have diplomatic relations with the Caucasus republics. Otunbaeva has discussed this issue at each stop, and is preparing a visit by President Askar Akayev, expected early next year.
Kyrgyz Crash Update
The Kyrgyz embassy in New Delhi tells RFE/RL that 13 people from Kyrgyzstan were killed in the mid-air collision between a Kazakh plane and a Saudi airliner over India Tuesday. Yesterday, only five of the Kyrgyz dead had been identified.
