Prague, 9 June 1997 (RFE/RL)- Some 3,000 demonstrators working in research institutes and in the health sector protested in Bucharest today against lay-offs and lack of compensation for those dismissed from work.
The protesters marched on the seat of government where they handed a list of demands, including the dismissals of Bogdan Bujor Teodoriu, Minister of Technological Research, and of Stefan Dragulescu, Minister of Health .
The demonstration was organized by the Fratia trade union confederation.
