Czech: Klaus Leaves For Britain Today


Prague, 17 June 1997 (RFE/RL) -- Czech Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus is due today to begin a short visit to Britain. Klaus' trip will mark his first contact with the new Labor government of Prime Minister Tony Blair. Klaus is scheduled to meet British Foreign Minister Robin Cook and Defense Minister George Robertson. Klaus will also meet European Bank for Reconstruction and Development officials and members of the British business community. He is also expected to give speeches at the Institute for Economic Affairs and the London School of Economics.
