Bratislava, 3 July 1997 (RFE/RL) - Opposition leaders tomorrow hold talks with Slovakia's Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar after five opposition parties today signed an election coalition agreement.
Meciar had issued invitations to tomorrow's meeting, in what reports called an attempt to diffuse the turbulent political atmosphere in Slovakia.
Our Bratislava correspondent reports the opposition is again expected to call for the removal of Interior Minister Gustav Krajci, who the opposition blames for the failure of the May referendum.
The opposition election coalition has been labeled by the media the "Rainbow Coalition," because it includes leftist, centrist and right-wing parties. The opposition coalition pledges to form a joint list of candidates for next year's parliamentary elections.
