Bishkek, 18 July 1997 (RFE/RL) -- Turkish president Suleyman Demirel met with Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev today in Bishkek. Our correspondent says the two leaders discussed bilateral political, economic, and trade relations.
Demirel, who arrived in Bishkek yesterday, has now left Bishkek to return to Turkey. His visit came at the invitation of Akayev, and included speaking at a forum discussing regional relations in Central Asia.
