Prague, 12 August 1997 (RFE/RL) - Romanian Defense Minister Victor Babiuc, whose planned two-day visit to Budapest was postponed due to what a spokesman for the Romanian Defense Ministry yesterday called "technical reasons" made a brief stop at Budapest airport last night. There he met his Hungarian counterpart, Gyoergy Keleti.
Hungarian media reported that the two "compared notes on mutual cooperation." Keleti and Babiuc agreed that the postponed visit will now take place in the autumn, when a planned agreement on military cooperation is also to be signed.
