Bishkek, 28 August 1997 (RFE/RL) - German Economic Minister Guenter Rexrodt arrived today in Bishkek on the third stop of his four-nation Central Asian tour. Rexrodt is accompanied by a 30-member delegation which includes German Bundestag deputies as well as businessmen.
Our correspondent says Rexrodt met today with Prime Minister Apas Joumagulov to discuss bilateral relations. The German delegation also attended the opening of a brewery in Bishkek, built as a joint Kyrgyz-German venture. Rexrodt, who has already visited Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, tomorrow leaves Bishkek for Kazakhstan.
