Washington, 21 October 1997 (RFE/RL) - U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright says Russia is accepting the fact of coming NATO expansion.
She told the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee today that Russia will continue to say it does not like NATO enlargement. But Albright said the record is showing that Russia is adjusting to it and that NATO enlargement has "in no way" changed U.S.-Russian relationships.
