Yugoslavia: Opposition To Meet To Discuss Government Reshuffle

Belgrade, Yugoslavia; 4 August 1999 (RFE/RL) - Opposition leader Milan Nikovic says Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Marianovic has called for all political parties to meet today to discuss reshuffling the government. Nikovic, who heads the opposition Serbian Movement for Renewal (SPO), said yesterday that the SPO would call for the resignation of the current government and for the creation of a democratic transitional government. Yugoslav Prime Minister Momir Bulatovic said Yugoslavia would not allow foreign powers--especially NATO countries involved in the bombing campaign--to dictate decisions about the new Serbian leadership. Bulatovic said Yugoslavia wants the NATO countries to "answer for the crimes they committed in bombing Yugoslavia."
