Dushanbe, 7 March 2002 (RFE/RL) -- Tajikistan's Supreme Court said today that it has sentenced to death a man convicted of killing a Swiss citizen. The victim, Didier Eric Mangerie, was killed in the mountains near Tajikistan's border with Kyrgyzstan in July 2001.
Khushvakht Kosymov was found in possession of U.S. dollars after the killing. He is believed to have killed Mangerie during a robbery committed with accomplice Abdugami Saitabaev. Saitabaev was sentenced to 20 years in a maximum security prison.
