Moscow, 18 August 2003 (RFE/RL) -- A newspaper journalist in the Urals city of Chelyabinsk has been sentenced to one year in a prison camp for libeling two deputy governors of the region. Russian press reports said today that German Galkin had published critical reports about alleged mismanagement in Chelyabinsk's regional administration. The reports said that one of the complainants in the trial against him had also claimed Galkin's report insinuated that he was a pedophile.
