Tu-214 at Paris Air Show
The Kazan Aircraft Plant is exhibiting its Tu-214 carrier at the international air show in Paris, Tatarstan State Radio reported on 18 June. The Kazan Helicopter Plant is also presenting its models at the show.

State Council Courses for Local Government Officials
The heads of Tatarstan's local self-governments gathered for a special course at the republican State Council on 18 June. The majority of local officials reportedly remain unaware of their duties except the distribution of state subventions.

Tram Prices Up in Some Localities
Tram tickets price rose by 50% to 3 rubles [$0,10] in Elmet and Leninogorsk on 18 June. Bogelme, Chally and Tuben Kama are expected to follow the trend soon, but Kazan and other cities plan to maintain the 2 ruble price.

Bad Roads Causing Accidents
Traffic militia chief Rifkat Minnikhanov on 19 June told Efir-inform that the bad condition of roads in the republic meant that Tatarstan lead Russia in the number of accidents, with 50 percent of all crashes taking place in the republic.

High-Ranked Guests Take Part in Sabantuy Celebrations
Ingushetia President Ruslan Aushev joined the Sabanuy celebrations in Tuben Kama on 17 June, reported. Tatarstan's representative in Russian Federation Council, former Chally mayor and expected presidential candidate in TR Rafgat Altinbayev attended the celebrations in Chally.

Rakhimov Orders Controls on Monetary Flows
President Murtaza Rakhimov said on 18 June that the outflow of funds from Bashkortostan remains a serious problem, and he directed regional administration heads to control such flows by monitoring commercial companies.

Ufa to Monitor Radioactive Materials
Bashkortostan is creating its own system of registration and control over the radioactive materials and waste, RFE/RL's Ufa correspondent reported on 18 June. A special governmental center will be established for gathering the data submitted by local officials and analyzing it.

Bashkortostan Urged to Develop Ore Processing Capability
Sibay regional administration head Rail Sarbayev told the governmental meeting on 18 June that if Bashkortostan failed to construct copper ore processing factories in the highland areas it would lose over $1 billion each year.

New Project in Agidel
A new oil storage and loading facility is being constructed in Agidel and this is expected to help develop one of the poorest regions of the republic, reported on 18 June.
