DAILY REVIEW FROM TATARSTANAzatlik Youth Union Urges To Stop The War In Chechnya
Coordinating board of Aztlik Tatar youth union issued a statement condemning the combat actions in Chechen Republic, saying in negatively affected the general situation in Russia. Statement stressed that chauvinism was artificially spread among Russian citizens using the background of economic collapse and growing international isolation of Russia. Azatlik noted that the organizers of terrorist acts in Moscow and other cities were still not named but the acts were followed by large-scale military operations in the North Caucasus. Public statement asked the parliamentary deputies of Russia and Tatarstan to condemn the war in the rebel republic and grant its peoples with freedom and full independence.
Tatarstan Pays Off Federal Taxes In Full
Tatarstan Republic fulfilled its obligations according to the inter-budget agreement with federal government before the schedule, Tatarinform agency reported on 9 December. Republic paid 1 billion 815 thousand rubles of federal taxes of 1999 by the 1st December, exceeding the planned transfer by 26 %.
Japanese Delegation To Observe The Elections In Tatarstan
Delegation of Japanese Embassy in Russian Federation headed by first secretary Ogata Yesimi arrived in Kazan on 9th December. Japanese diplomats will meet the candidate deputies for Russian State Duma and republican parliament, visit the Central Election Commission of TR.
