General Motors Company Representatives Say GMC Will Develop Cooperation With Tatarstan
David Herman, Vice President of General Motors in CIS countries, said during a meeting with Tatarstan president Shaimiev on November 3 that GM intends to develop cooperation with the Tatarstan Republic. Shaimiev informed the representatives of GM about measures taken by the TR government to ease the current economic crisis, which involves all regions of Russian. He said that under the present circumstances, major attention should be paid to protecting domestic producers.

David Herman said his company was preparing to expand the production capacities of the YelAZ-GM joint venture by involving the Opel operation so that not only the Chevrolet Blazer, but the Opel Vectra, would be assembled in TR.

New Managing Director of GM, Louis Madaleno, stated that he would guarantee the successful solution of all issues concerning the YelAZ project.

New Model Of KamAZ Truck Corresponds To European Standards
The director of the KamAZ public relations department, Nail Galiullin, reported on October 31 that the KamAZ automotive works has produced the first KamAZ 65115 model truck. Model 65115 has no analogs produced by automotive works throughout CIS. KamAZ administration announced that this model has a more powerful engine of Euro-1 class compared to previous KamAZ models. Reportedly the 65115 possesses extended capacity, reliability and consumes less fuel. It is able to transport 16 tons of load.

6th Anniversary of Tatarstan's Constitution To Be Celebrated In Tatarstan
Constitution Day will be celebrated on November 6 in the Tatarstan Republic. Tatarstan's Constitution was adopted on November 6, 1992.

Executive Committee Of World Congress Of Tatars To Visit Moscow
The meeting of members of the WCT Executive Committee will be held on November 7th with the Tatars of Moscow.
