Police in the Philippines say a tourist bus has plunged into a mountain ravine, killing at least 18 people, many of them Iranian nationals.
Police officer Arden Trocio said the bus was carrying about 50 people, most of them Iranian medical and nursing students, when its breaks appeared to fail and it plunged down a 30-meter ravine in Balamban on Cebu Island.
Police say an unknown number are still trapped under the wreckage. A local shipbuilding company has offered to send a crane to help lift the bus from the ravine in an attempt to save passengers.
