World: UN Millennium Development Goals Summit opens in New York (to September 22).

TUESDAY, September 21:

Armenia: Armenia marks the 19th anniversary of its declaration of independence from the Soviet Union.

Azerbaijan: U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee expected to vote on nomination of Matthew Bryza as U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan.

World: Clinton Global Initiative 2010 annual meeting held in New York.

World: 15th session of UN Human Rights Council opens in Geneva (to September 23).

WEDNESDAY, September 22:

Pakistan/Russia: The Pakistan-Russia intergovernmental commission meets in Moscow.

Russia/NATO: An informal meeting of the NATO-Russia Council foreign ministers to be held in New York.
