Taliban Attack Jalalabad Airport

Taliban fighters have attacked Afghan and international forces at the airport of the eastern city of Jalalabad, in Nangarhar Province.

Officials of the NATO-led ISAF and Afghan police say up to eight attackers were killed in the gun battle, which included NATO helicopters firing on the militants.

There are no reports of NATO or Afghan military casualties.

The Taliban says it sent 14 suicide bombers to attack the airport and claims as many as 30 foreign troops were killed.
