Kyrgyzstan's Presidential Vote On October 30

Polls opened on October 30 for Kyrgyzstan's 3-million-plus registered voters to pick a new president for the first time since bloody protests chased Kurmanbek Bakiev from power a year and a half ago. Interim leader Roza Otunbaeva declined to run, leaving a field of 16 presidential hopefuls to battle it out to lead post-Soviet Central Asia's lone parliamentary democracy.
