Covering The Heart Of The War In Kandahar

From 2006 to 2010, award-winning Canadian photojournalist Louie Palu covered the fighting in Afghanistan from Kandahar, the heartland of the insurgency. The result is a series of photos -- at once documentary and artistic -- that provide a window into the horrors of battle and the daily life that goes on in its midst. Palu spoke to RFE/RL at a recent exhibition of his work at the New America Foundation, a Washington think tank, where he is currently a fellow.
