Iranian Lawmaker Warns Over Flag Color Change

We've blogged about the green color of Iran’s flag turning blue at various state ceremonies.

Now an Iranian lawmaker, the deputy head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has reportedly protested against the changing of the green stripe in the Iranian flag.

Hossein Sobhaninia is quoted by Iranian news websites as saying that the Iranian flag is a symbol of unity and it shouldn’t be politicized and exposed by “sick minds.”

Earlier this week, President Mahmud Ahmadinejad appeared at a press conference against a backdrop where the flag's green stripe had turned blue. But another Iranian flag behind the Iranian president remained unaltered.
