King Abdullah II has assured Iraqi President Jalal Talabani of Jordan's "full support" for efforts that seek to "maintain Iraq's security and stability."
A royal court statement on June 27 said Abdullah and Talabani also discussed developments in the Middle East and stressed the need for coming up with "pan-Arab attitudes for addressing common challenges."
The talks were held during a surprise visit to Jordan by Talabani. Iraq has yet to form a new government as the country's March elections produced months of political deadlock.
