Lithuanian Charged Over Russian Islamic 'Terror' Plot

Lithuanian prosecutors have formally indicted a Lithuanian woman, Egle Kusaite, of plotting a suicide attack in Russia on behalf of an Islamist network.

Prosecutor Justas Laucius told reporters Kusaite was indicted "for preparing an act of terrorism in very sophisticated circumstances."

He said Kusaite is accused of plotting to strike at Russian military targets related to the conflict in Chechnya.

Prosecutors have claimed that she is a convert to Islam.

Kusaite was detained in October.

Her defense team and family have rejected the allegations.
