Police in Norway say three men allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda have been arrested on suspicion of plotting a terror attack.
The Norwegian Police Security Service said the suspects had ties to individuals under investigation in the United States and Britain.
The three men, whose names were not released, had been under surveillance for more than a year.
A police spokesman said one of the man is a Norwegian national of Uyghur ethnic background. A further suspect is of Iraqi background and the third is an ethnic Uzbek, both of whom were granted permanent residency in Norway.
Police did not provide further details on the arrests.
But Norwegian media reports said the suspects had been planning a bomb attack and that the arrests had followed comprehensive cooperation among international intelligence services.
