Officials Say NATO Mistakenly Kills Five Afghan Soldiers

Officials say a NATO air strike overnight mistakenly killed five Afghan soldiers and wounded two in the country's eastern Ghazni Province.

Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman General Mohammad Zahir Azimi said the Afghan solders were fired on without warning during an ambush operation.

He also criticized NATO, saying this is "not the first time" this has happened.

NATO spokesman Josef Blotz confirmed the deaths and said that a joint investigation has been launched.
