Rice Rules Out Diplomatic Office In Iran For Now

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on November 26 that a decision on opening a diplomatic outpost in Iran would likely be left up to the incoming Obama administration and was not imminent.

"At this late moment, I think it is probably better that this decision be left to the next administration," said Rice when asked whether there was still a chance a U.S. interests section could be opened in Tehran before the end of the Bush administration.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
