Iranian women rights activists have produced a video montage to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.
They use pictures of legendary German fighter for women’s rights, Clara Zetkin, and have her chant “Allahu Akbar” from the rooftops.
In the clip, Zetkin says that she and other women’s rights activists will chant “Allahu Akbar” on March 8 and they will also gather in front of Tehran’s Evin Prison to call for the release of women who have been jailed in the postelection crackdown.
Over 20 women’s rights activists and female journalists have been arrested in recent months in Iran. At least 10 remain in prison, including Shiva Nazar Ahari and student leader Bahareh Hedayat.
