'University Is Alive'

Students at Allameh Tabatabei on April 13 are said to have protested a visit by senior presidential aide Mojtaba Hashemi Samareh.

Opposition websites have posted this video, which is purportedly from the demonstration and shows students singing a protest song:

Iranian news websites report that students called for the release of their jailed friends and held banners with pictures of jailed Allameh student Majid Dorri.

One banner reportedly said "University Is Alive."

Universities have been a center of antigovernment protests since Iran's disputed presidential election. The government has reacted by issuing warnings, as well as arresting and sentencing to jail a number of student activists.
