Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom has named Viktor Orban, the leader of the center-right Fidesz party, as the country's next prime minister.
The president announced Orban's nomination at the inaugural session of the new parliament today.
The Fidesz party won a two-thirds parliamentary majority in elections in April, ousting the Socialists.
Orban is expected to form his government later this month.
