A news magazine (watch it here on youTube) on Iranian State Television has aired interviews with the managing editors of three Iranian dailies, "Aftabe Yazd," "Etemad Melli," and "Iran," during which they had to explain why their papers didn't pay enough attention to the conflict in Gaza and why Gaza was recently not their front-page story.
Some Iranian bloggers have accused the government of trying to cover up domestic issues such as unemployment and inflation by focusing on the crisis in Gaza.
The three dailies have now issued statements listing their Gaza news stories, commentaries, and other Gaza-related materials they've had since the crisis began, while at the same time criticizing the move by state media.
About two weeks ago, a moderate daily "Kargozaran" was shut down for publishing an article which authorities said sanitized Israel's "crimes" in Gaza.
