Afghan Bombing Suspect Stoned To Death

A man suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing in eastern Afghanistan has reportedly been stoned to death.

The roadside explosion ripped through a minibus carrying wedding guests in the restive Andar district of Ghazni Province on October 27, killing 18 people.

Provincial officials say villagers hunted down a local man, Mohammad Asef, who was said to have been found hiding next to his home with the bomb's remote control nearby.

The man, who reportedly confessed to having had a hand in the bombing, was dragged away, beaten with sticks and shovels, and stoned to death.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Similar attacks in the past in Andar have been blamed on the Taliban.
